About Strom Series

Strom Series is three homes by Magnus Ström. They are fully designed and built on site, at a fixed price, in nine to twelve months. This is why they exist, what they are and how we work.

    Why Strom Series exists

A house designed for a single client takes three to five years from plot to moving in. The architect draws, the engineer calculates, and electrics, plumbing, ventilation and acoustics are each designed separately before it all has to fit together. Every decision along the way can move both the schedule and the price. You get the price when the design work is done, and the final cost when the house is finished.

Houses designed for everyone have the opposite problem: they have to suit as many people as possible, and the architecture comes last.

Strom Series sits between the two. Magnus Ström has designed three homes with the same care as the houses he draws for one client at a time, and the design work is done in advance — once, by him and Ola Mattisson together. That is why we can tell you what the house costs and when it will be ready before we sign the contract.

Strom 02 – terrace and pool by the water

    Three homes, ready to build

Strom 01 and Strom 02 on one level, Strom 03 on two. Two to five bedrooms, 126 to 224 m² of living area. Each home is complete as it is — a kitchen from our joinery workshop, bathrooms, a fireplace, underfloor heating, lighting — and every material and system is chosen by Magnus Ström.

Whatever you add has a fixed price, and you see the total as you customise the house, before you talk to anyone. Nine months to build the single-storey homes, twelve for Strom 03, counted from approved building permit and completed groundworks.

A build in progress under weather protection

One counterpart, one contract, one responsibility.

One contract: a fixed-price turnkey agreement under ABS 18, the Swedish standard for building a house for a private client. The construction documents are our own, and what Magnus Ström drew is what gets built. Ola Mattisson is your counterpart from the first call until you move in; coordinating architect and builder is our work. You pay as the house is built, and the last ten per cent only when an independent inspector has approved it.
